Abstract: In all fields, in art, science and daily life, the participants compete for the connection to progress and modernity. Nobody would like to expose himself to the reproach, he might not be up to date, might have been overtaken by time. The saying of former Soviet President M. Gorbatschow: "Life punishes those, who are too late" represents the necessity to be in this rapidly living society at the head in order to receive recognition and finally fame and power.Significantly responsible for this fast evolution is the possibility to transmit and process, at a rapidly increasing speed, a larger and larger number of data with the help of computers.The "age of information" began a long time ago. Some of the characteristics are: network, cybernetics, computer science, virtuality. The access to information, the participation in the worldwide network of data, the processing and availability of information of every kind are symbols of a changed knowledge and attitude towards the possibilities of our modern society. Former ways of transmitting news by wire and/or paper have mostly been replaced by computer technology.The catchword in the media is "virtual", which has already changed vast fields of our daily life - with all its consequences, and which will further change them. We are only at the beginning of this new section of evolution.For many years, a paradigma-change of the medicine has been required, and to carry it out is absolutely necessary even if great efforts and changes in our way of thinking are unavoidable. But before this can be done, some important questions must be answered first. Which place holds the contemporary medicine with its traditional approach? Is it still up to date? Which fundamental medical progress has been made?The following article deals with new ideas about this topic and compares the traditional medical approach with a cybernetic medicine according to the author of this article as a possible suitable alternative.
