Lokale und systemische Therapie mit Tributyrin bei Patienten mit Malignomen im fortgeschrittenen Stadium und Condylomata acuminata des GenitaleKasuistiken und Verträglichkeit

Abstract: In a phase-l-clinical trial to evaluate clinical toxicity of butyric acid, 15 patients with advanced cancer, 2 leukemic patients and 3 patients with genital acuminate warts have been treated with tributyrin, either suppositories or emulsions by enemas. We present the experiences observed during therapeutic intervention in this article. Besides of palliation effects on pain and antihemorrhagic effects we could observe tumor remissons in some cases. In three cases we observed a significant pain reduction (exulcerated breast cancer, sacral recurrence of rectal cancer). In one case of anal cancer we experlenced a complete remission of tumor. The effects depend on the dose. Toxicity could not be revealed, even at high-dose as in intravenous treatment.
