Darmflora - Faktor und Produkt unserer Umwelt

Abstract: The macroorganism provides germfree conditions for the development of the fetus within the uterus. After birth the external and internal surfaces of the newborn body will be colonized by microorganisms. lt is purely by chance which kind of microorganisms comes into the gastrointestinal tract but the whole process is subject to a microecological succession.The gastrointestinal microflora developing completely during the first year of life is the result of a lot of different environmental factors. On the other hand the microflora itself acts as an environmental factor for the macroorganism. Because of disturbed intestinal microflora is bad for health the aim of prophylactic and therapeutic treatment should be a stabilized intestinal microbial biocenosis.
