Pulsed magnetic fields of low intensity as adjuvant therapy in severely polytraumatized patients

Abstract: In 24 male polytraumatized test persons, adjuvant and continuous magnetic field therapy was applied after surgical wound toilet: f = 24 Hz rectangle, B = 240 ?T. The partial pressure of oxygen was determined an admission and one and two weeks after starting the treatment. In the control group there were 24 placebo-treated males of the same constitution, the measurement took place at the same times. The patients belonged to the group with virtually the most severe damages (3 stages): The partial pressure of oxygen had fallen to 8,00 kilopascal.In the patients treated with magnetic field therapy, a highly significant increase in the partial pressure of oxygen could be established after two weeks.Magnetic fields penetrate unweakendly the organism, they are able to cause there a great number of nowadays partly confirmed as well as still argued interactions.
