Abstract: In 81% of the patients suffering from a chronic tennis-arm with an average period of the disease of 1.4 years and which have unsuccessfully been trated with different therapeutical measures the complaints can distinctly be improved by an acupuncture therapy. The required number of acupuncture sessions ranges from 6 with the acute tennis-arm up to 20 sessions with the chronic tennis-arm (in average 12 sessions). If patients are treated in the prodrominal stage of the tennis-arm (muscular tenseness of the extensors at the forearm), then 1 to 2 sessions are mostly sufficient. The acute and cronic tennis-arm can be treated with acupuncure also after unsuccessful conventional therapy - inclusive of unsuccessful steriod injections.
