Abstract: Three of the most important essential trace elements zink, selenium and molybdenum have been an whole blood of a nonselected group of 1750 people in Austria. 52 % of these persons exhibited a deficit of selenium, 44% a deficit of zink and 41.5 % a deficit on molybdenum. 21.5 %showed a deficit of selenium and molybdenum 22 % a deficit of zink and selenium and 12,5% a deficit of zink and molybdenum. In total 91.5 % of the people investigated had a deficit of at least one of the three essential trace elements zink, selenium or molybdenum.
