Langzeittherapie psychischer und vegetativer Dysregulationen mit Zubereitungen aus Piper methysticum

Abstract: The effectiveness of Kavosporal Coated Tablets an female patients of child-bearing age was examined in a randomized doubleblank study. Two groups of thirty female patients each were involved in this investigation. The patients were treated during a time span of three months. The range of indications included anxiety in neuroses, abnormal reaction to certain experiences, neurovegetative and psychosomatic disorders, depressive phases, as well as impaired sleep.Procedures such as the use of psychometric tests and verification through clinical examination were utilized in evaluating this preparation's effectiveness. Also taken into consideration were the number of cases in which therapy discontinuation was necessitated due to under-effectiveness of the preparation, as well as the doctor's overall assessments. Tablets actually containing Kavosporal proved to be unequivocally superior in treating disorders of a distinctly somatic nature, whereas psychological symptoms displayed the ability to be strongly influenced by use of a placebo as well. A mono-preparation was tested for this purpose, using a daily dosage of 2 x 30 mg of Kawalaktones in the form of a standardized extract. Remarkable was the immediate effect displayed after only several hours time. Therapy was carried out for a period of twelve weeks, during which a lowering of elevated blood pressures, especially of the diastolic values. was observed.
