Abstract: Combined acupuncture anaesthesia was performed in five patients undergoing abdominal urological surgery. The method used for anaesthesia was in fact a standard anaesthesia procedure, in which analgesia by means of morphinomimetics had been replaced by acupuncture. The haemodynamic changes during the whole procedure, lasting at least three and a half hours, were carefully recorded. From the results obtained it is concluded, that the method is able to produce an adequate analgesia for this type of surgery.
