(Music therapy as part of the remedial-educational project in children with minimal brain dysfunction.)

Abstract: Demonstrates that stimulating and sedative remedial effects, as well as educational ones, can be evoked by musical stimuli. In children with minimal cerebral dysfunction, music therapy can stimulate subcortical and cortical attention, acoustic and visual-motor integration, memory, and the spheres of higher emotion and creativity. Three forms of therapy are described: a receptive group form combined with painting, an active form using Orff's (G. Orff, 1974) musical instruments, and a vocal and musical improvisation of fairy tales and stories. (Russian & English abstracts) (36 ref)
