Zusammenfassung Es ist wissenschaftlich umstritten ob bestimmte Witterungsverhältnisse eine latente Suizidneigung intensivieren können. Man sollte jedoch Kollektive von Suizidanten nicht einfach summarisch mit bestimmten meteorologischen Parametern korrelieren. Heute gilt jeder Selbstmörder als psychisch gestört. Es scheint deshalb besser die Diagnosen retrospektiv aufzugliedern und festzustellen: Welches psychiatrische Krankheitsbild reagiert auf welches meteorologische Ereignis besonders empfindlich? Bei einer Untersuchung mit der "Koinzidenzmethode" (N = 17 268) zeigte sich: Von den Schizophrenen (je nach Untersuchergruppe: 1 - 11% aller Selbstmörder) reagieren Paranoide und Hebephrene auf Föhn Okklusion und Warmfront- Katatone auf Kaltfronteinbrüche. Bei den Depressiven (7-53%) sind vor allem neurotische und Involutionsdepressionen von praktisch allen Wetterformen periodische (Männer) und Erschöpfungsdepressionen (Frauen) durch Warmfront-Einbrüche reaktive Depressionen (Verstärkermechanismus) durch Föhn und Kaltfront betroffen. Von den Neurotikern (8 2-80%) werden besonders Pubertätskrisen und Charakterneurosen (Föhn) Zwangs- (Kaltfront) und Angstneurosen (Okklusion) irritiert. Psychopathen (7-24 3%) reagieren auf Okklusion Alkoholiker (8 6-20 3%) und Drogenabhängige (7 7-12%) praktisch auf alle meteorologischen Ereignisse. Summary: Suicide and Weather The question of whether or not certain weather conditions may intensify the tendency of committing suicide has not yet been solved scientifically. One should not however correlate certain meteorological parameters to a collective number of suicides. Nowadays every person committing suicide is regarded as psychically disturbed. Therefore it may be better to analyse the diagnoses retrospectively and to determine what type of psychiatric illness is reacting significantly to what meteorological event. At the occasion of a study using the "coincidence method" (N = 17 268) it was shown that out of the group of schizophrenics (according to the different groups tested: 1 - 11% of all suicides) schizophrenics with paranoic symptoms and hebephrenics are responding to warm wind (Föhn) occlusion and warm front catatonics are reacting to cold front. Of the depressives (7-53%) especially neurotic depressions and depressions of involution are affected practically by all kinds of weather conditions periodical (men) and depressions of exhaustion (women) by warm front reactive depressions by Him and cold front. Of the neurotics (8 2-80'Yo) especially puberty crises and neuroses of character (Föhn) compulsion (cold front) and neuroses of anxiety (occlusion) are being irritated. Psychopathics (7 - 24 3%) are reacting to occlusion alcoholics (8 6-20 3%) and drug addicts (7 7-12%) are responding to practically all kinds of meteorological events. ___MH
