Behandlung wiederholter Fehlgeburten mit aktivierter Eigenbluttherapie

Abstract: Question: Aim of the study was, to examine the influence of the activated autohemotherapy on different immune parameters and the clinical course of pregnancies in female patients with habitual abortions.Study design: In a prospective study, women with habitual abortions were treated with activated autologous blood and during therapy, immunological parameters were examined. The clinical course of the pregnancy is compared with a historic control group.Patients: 35 women with > 2 abortions after exclusion of immunological causes.Results: The immunological examinations showed significant changes of the lymphocyte subpopulation, the complement parameters, the mitogenic stimulation and the amount of immunoglobulin. Side effects were not observed. From July 1994 until November 1995, 22 intrauterine and one extrauterine pregnancies occurred, which showed the following course: 19 (86%) live births, 2 (9%) spontaneous abortions and 1 (4%) interruption ot pregnancy.Conclusion: Activated autohemotherapy causes measurable changes of the immune system without having severe side effects and it seems, to be very promising with respect to a further discussion about the therapy of idiopathic habitual abortions
