Abstract: Scientifically it is well established that the epidemiology and pathophysiology of coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction have many more facets than the general physician usually knows. If their therapeutic consequences were added to the present pharmacologically dominated concept of treatment, this could advance course and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
