Abstract: The Baste case-record of Nietzsche was discovered in 1998. Former publications cited a copy which is also part of the Jena case-record. The original document does not show any sensational news. But the formulations demonstrate that at the beginning of 1889 Nietzsche was not famous - not even in Baste. Further details are interesting: the correct diagnosis was made just at the beginning; Nietzsches behavior is well documented; there is a markedly difference between the real patient record, notes on the margin and further documents.
