Abstract: Institut für Physiotherapie Klinikum der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena Jena Application temperatures of cold air stream devices: The dosage of cold air application depends an the temperature of the cold air stream. These temperatures were measured an the device and their dependance on volume stream and localisation of the sensing device is described. In principle the temperatures given by the manufactures (approx. - 30° C) are not reached. For practical use it is of importance that the actual temperatures in the site of application are between -9° C and 0° C in dependance on the nozzle-to-skin distance. Key words: Cold air stream application - volume stream temperature - nozzle distance - device Kurzfassung: Die Dosierung einer Kaltluftapplikation basiert auf der Angabe der Temperatur des Kaltluftstromes. Diese Temperaturen wurden am Therapiegerät gemessen und deren Abhängigkeit vom Volumenstrom und von der Lokalisation des Meßfühlers dargestellt. Grundsätzlich werden die vom Hersteller angegebenen Temperaturen (ca. -30° C) nicht erreicht. Für praktische Belange ist bedeutsam daß die realen Temperaturen am Applikationsort in Abhängigkeit vom Düsen-Haut-Abstand zwischen -9° C und 0° C liegen. schö
