Norm data for threat and familiarity of 197 body related german nouns

Abstract: The word attributes degree of threat and familiarity were rated by two student samples (both n=54, students of psychology) on a seven-point scale for 197 german nouns. Furthermore the attribute degree of threat was assessed in a clinical sample (n=54, patients with somatoform disorders). Reliability of norm data is estimated through interrater-reliability. Word frequencies of these nouns were assessed through Mannheim Textcorpus (Celex, 1995). Intercorrelations of variables are reported. The averages of these ratings constitute norm values that are necessary, e.g. For the experimental clinical research in selective attention and implicit cognition in emotional disorders.
