Glutenunverträglichkeit - Problematik der Diagnostik und Konzepte zur Früherkennung |
Author(s):
Abstract: Glutenenteropathy, a hypersensitivity against special cereal proteins, leads to an atrophy of the intestinal mucosa, followed by deficiencies of several nutrients caused by a malassimilation. Whereas the pediatric form can be characterized through typical, abdominal symptoms, the adult form of the disease is associated with unspecific abdominal complaints as well as psychiatric and neurological falls. Consequently, a direct diagnosis is nearly impossible. In average, the nontropical, adult sprue is diagnosed after a period of about 13 years.Consequently a noninvasive concept for an early detection of the disease is required, especially for risk groups and patients with unspecific abdominal pain or neurologic and psychiatric fails. An effective score for early detection and follow-up is the combination of anti-gliadin-IgA and anti-endomysium-IgA analysis in serum and faecal samples.
