Abstract: The combination of structural and functional brain imaging and molecular genetics has revealed new entities, especially in the group of cerebral dysgenesia leading to epilepsy and intellectual disability. Current knowledge of the epidemiology, aetiology, treatment, and prognosis of patients with epilepsy and intellectual disability is discussed.
