Affective contact in the therapeutic triangle

Abstract: A novel study that focused on ''therapy'' instead of patients is reported. Therapists and patients were both interviewed and their interviews evaluated with the newly developed method elf metaphor analysis. Results show that several interactive contact scenarios can be distinguished, each with its own sequential logic. Furthermore, a relationship was found between synchronization of the contact scenarios (among patients and therapists) and the treatment result.
