Single-Case-Studies - An Overview

Abstract: Single-case studies are experimental studies, which serve to evaluate the efficacy of a therapy on the basis of individual cases. A difference is made between single-case experimental designs with different subtypes and N-of-1 randomized controlled trials. A survey is presented here on the most important research literature on this subject, on the different types of single-case studies as well as on methodological implications.
