Academic Director of the Institute of Medical Balneology and Climatology of the University of Munich/Germany On behalf of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology I am greeting most heartily the North American colleagues all guests of this international panel and friends. Many thanks to the International Spa and Fitness Association for the invitation to visit your country and to speak about some basic problems in the Health Resort Medicine and Spa Treatments in the treatment of chronic disorders and diseases preventive strategies and rehabilitation programs. I would like to speak to you as the president of the world organization of Health Resort Medicine and Spa Treatments the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology the I. S. M. H. and I would like to speak to you as a German coming from old Europe with a long tradition in Health Resorts and Spas and traditional and natural medicine. I'll present and describe the scope of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology as related to prevention treatment and rehabilitation.
