Abstract: Priv.-Doz. Dr. Rainer Brackhane Herford Zusammenfassung: Es wird auf die besondere Problematik der beruflichen Rehabilitation von geistig behinderten und lernbehinderten Menschen - im Unterschied zu anderen Behinderungsgruppen - hingewiesen. Vor dem Hintergrund der gegenwärtigen Praxis werden spezifische Desiderate aufgezeigt und Lösungsansätze dargestellt. Insbesondere werden eine präzisere Formulierung von gestuften beruflichen Qualifikationen und die Intensivierung flexibler und ambulanter Hilfen zwischen besonderem und allgemeinem Arbeitsmarkt gefordert. Mentally Retarded and Learning Disabled People in the World of Work: Attention is drawn to the specific issues faced - in contrast to other disability groups - in the vocational rehabilitation of persons with mental retardation and learning disorders. Current practice serves as a background for pointing out specific desiderations and outlining possible solutions. In particular posited is the need for a more tangible definition of modularized occupational qualifications as well as upgrading and refinement of flexible community-based supports to be made available at the special/general labour market interface.
