What is a person? Reflections on the domain of psychology from an ontological and postrationalist perspective |
Journal/Book: J Constr Psychol. 1996; 9: 1900 Frost Road, Suite 101, Bristol, PA 19007-1598. Taylor & Francis. 249-261.
Abstract: What characterizes a person is proposed to be self-consciousness and organized subjectivity, the latter being the specific domain of psychology. This hypothesis is consistent with an evolutionary epistemological approach that considers cognitive variables in primates-subjectivity, intersubjectivity, and attachment-as the seed that gives birth to the human person when Homo sapiens sapiens lives within language.
