Geist - eine verlorene Dimension?

Abstract: While medicine-according to the ideas of Renaissance, has up to now divided its world into a "Res extensa" and a "Res cogitans" and recognized the latter as being ponderable and measurable, and the only scientific one, recent holistic approaches deal with an integration of psychosocial dimensions. The third dimension, the Â„spirit" largely remains nebulous and unprovable and is delegated to theologists and philosophers. In the area of everyday life, our being cut-off from the world of the spiritual, has far-reaching consequences for ecology, social life, industrial production, individual questions concerning the sense of life as well as our handling of diseases and health. It is intended to show, how the formation of cancer has not only to be seen under the aspect of heredity, toxicology, nutrition and psyche but also, that certain spiritual time phenomena have the same character which makes one ill. For the therapy of the cancer patient, this means an integration of the art and the development of an "examining faculty of judgment" (Goethe) of the world, in order to reach a future holistic medicine in oncology.
