Ein Dulcamara-Fall (Teil 1)

Abstract: The solancee Dulcamara, ´bitter-sweet´was praised as a remedy against the bad effects of cold, especially of cold with wetness already long before Hahnemann. Missing capacibility to accomodate oneself to a fierce sudden fall of temperatue is found mostly among allergic persons; in old age it also appears more and more: That is whatK. Stauffer takes into consideration, when he says: "While you prescribe Aconitum for young strong persons against colds, you should prefer Dulcamara for elder patients with reduced power of resistance." Important for the mechanism of the effect of Dulcamara according to Otto Leeser is the similarity of the steroidalkaloids of Dulcamara with cholesterine, by which the latter is removed from the border of cell, what makes the entrance of other substances for instance allergic substances easier; up to now provings showed a certain miss of psychical symptoms, different from most of the other solanaceae. Main effects: arthralgic-neuralgic symptoms, urinary system, skin and mucous membranes. In a present case the importance pf initial symptoms of the skin along with Dulcamara becomes visible.
