Crataegus species

Abstract: Origin, compounds and medicinal use of flowers, leaves and fruits of different Crataegus species are described. These date are supplemented by remarks of Crataegus as floral elements in medieval cathedrals, 'm flower bunches of Jan Breughel and as subjects of middle european tales. It has been tried to answer the question, since what time Crataegus has been used as cardiacum in medicine.
