Journal/Book: Ärztezeitschrift für Naturheilverfahren. 1993; 34/5: 351-352.
Abstract: According to the experiences made till now the expectation of life and the curative chance for women with mamma carcinoma depend rather an the degree of dissemination of the disease at the time of the surgical operation than an the extent of the local operative intervention for repair. Therefore, the mamma preserving therapy becomes more and more important and, mostly, the surgical operation in the region of the mamma is restricted to the large scale removal of the tumour the carcinoma lying in the centre of the removed tissue and being surrounded by a 1 to 1. 5 mm wide unremarkable scar tissue. The surgical operation is combined with the typical removal of the axillary lymphatic nods and is completed by radiation therapy of the remaining mamma. Should axillary lymphatic nods show metastases then an adjuvant chemotherapy must be performed besides the radiation therapy.
