Abstract: Examines the difficulties in developing a therapeutic alliance through the imagery of the "fallen angel." The author addresses her own defenses to help create a transitional space between her and her sexually and emotionally abused clients. Two different case studies illustrate the changes that she experienced in her own development as an art therapist.
