Developmental Strategies with Autistic Children in Music Therapy |
Abstract: A structured approach for the difficult and resistant Autistic child can provide boundaries within which genuine interaction and development can occur. This paper examines through a case study the assessment and evaluation of autistic disability and identifies the role of music therapy. The model of work described focusses on the effect of sustained intervention, partly intrusive, partly psychodynamic, through free improvisation.
