Single case research designs |
Journal/Book: Ms. 1992; 1-9.
Abstract: Single-case research designs are a part of a whole spectrum of research methods. Such designs have the advantage of being adaptable to the clinical needs of the patient and the therapeutic approach of the practitioner. There are various possibilities for experimental rigour which include both randomization and blind assessment. The designs are appropriate for the development of research hypotheses, testing those hypotheses in daily clinical practice and refining clinical techniques. Single-case designs, if systematically replicated, could provide an ideal developmental collaborative research Cool for uniting clinicians from differing backgrounds.
