Harnausscheidung der Elemente Quecksilber, Kupfer und Zink bei Amalgamträgern vor und nach Behandlung mit einem Komplexbildner (DMPS) |
Abstract: Amalgam tooth-fillings may be an important factor in chronic mercury intoxication, which can be shown by a mobilising method by means of dimercaptopropanesulfonate (DMPS). After intraveneous application of DMPS urinary mercury levels exceeded 100 µg/1 in 21,2% of patients with amalgam tooth-fillings. This may indicate mercury depots in organs and tissues. Also significantly increased renal excretion of copper and zinc could be determined, which may yield in a negative metabolic balance.
