Abstract: First of all, the different forms of dizziness and disorders of balance, which can affect ill people as well as healthy people are described. Dizziness often is accompanied by vegetative symptoms as vomiting, nausea, outbreak of sweat, tachycardia and collapse as a so-called nausea complex. Vertigo, nausea and tinnitus are indicator symptoms, which signal the patient, that his sensorial and his central nervous functional capacity or integrity is impaired. In addition to other diagnostic possibilities especially the cranio-corpography which has been developed by the author is mentioned. This is an objective and quantitative vestibulo-spinal quick testing method, which is especially suitable for the diagnosis of dizziness made by the general practitioner.The spectrum of the neurotological therapy which is available today, comprises the psychotherapy, the system exercising physiotherapy, the pharmacotherapy and the otoneurosurgery.
