Möglichkeiten der Akupunktur bei Fertilitätsstörungen

Abstract: The present paper gives a survey of the results of acupuncture treatment of fertility disorders. Normal menstrual cycles could be achieved in women who did not conceive on grounds of hormonal disorders by auricular as well as by body acupuncture. Especially in severe cases of oligo-amenorrhoea and luteal insufficiency, acupuncture was equivalent to pharmaceutical therapy or was, in part, even superior to it. Besides the treatment of hormonal disorders, the following diseases are suitable for acupuncture treatment: allergies, migraine, orthopaedic syndromes, hyperemesis, dysmenorrhoea, and bleeding disorders. In male fertility disorders an influence of acupuncture could be shown in cases with normal sperm count, but decreased motility of spermatozoa. By acupuncture treatment, a significant rise of blood testosterone levels could be induced in the men.
