Beres Drops Plus - trace element supplement: a resumé of its development and clinical studies |
Abstract: The Beres Drops Plus is a liquid supplement containing Fe, Zn, Mo, K, Na, Mn, Mg, Cu, V, B, Ni, F, Co and Cl which are held in suspension by various organic carrier molecules. The supplement is designed to correct trace element deficiencies in human nutrition. Development began in the 1950s through the research of a Hungarian biochemist, Dr Jozseph Beres, and its commercial usage as a human supplement dates from 1976. As the intent is to supplement, rather than ensure, the daily dietary requirements, the recommended daily dosage is generally less than the US RDA. The therapeutic effect of the Beres Drops Plus over the past 20),ears has been substantial, albeit empirical. However during the past two years, due to the political changes in Hungary, it has been possible to conduct a number of trials to substantiate quantitatively the previous empirical findings. The report that follows outlines the development and basic biochemistry of the product, the trials to date as well as those planned and in progress.
