Developing a meaningful quality assurance program |

Abstract: Presents information to help supervisors and music therapists understand quality assurance (QA) and design a QA program in their departments. Although presented for music therapists, the principles discussed are identical for other creative arts as well as any other clinical discipline. The why, what, how, where, who, and when of QA are covered. Approaches to quality care (structure, process, outcome) and processes that come before and after QA are discussed. Also addressed are clinical privileges, performance standards, and education and training.
