Wirksamkeitsnachweis pflanzlicher Präparate beim Menschen unter Berücksichtigung vegetativer Parameter

Abstract: Controlled trials are a must for evaluating the effectiveness of both phytotherapeutic and chemotherapeutic drugs. There should be no fundamental differences between these trials. The black box model is even suitable for the evaluation of homeopathic therapy. Of course, the general statistical principles have to be observed. A number of measuring methods covering the psychologic and psychovegetative spectrum are available today. Thus, the claim that these areas can hardly or not all be measured is no longer correct. Especially diagnosis in the psychic and psychosocial field by means of questionnaires has become highly reliable. In two examples the exact evaluation of phytotherapy is illustrated: women in the stress lab, and administration of a phyto-sedative an the driving simulator. Our experience gained with reliable psychophysical measuring methods has been excellent, allowing us to draw the conclusions for the general procedure.
