Zum Problem klimaterischer Beschwerden

Abstract: Within the last years the knowledge about advantages and disadvantages of the hormone therapy during the climateric phase of the woman has increased in such an extent that it can no longer be easily overlooked. new epidemiological investigations mention the inhibition of osteoporosis and favourable influences on the lipid metabolism with reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases by oestrogens. Also the reduction of the risk of corpus carcinoma by the addition of gestagen is discussed. With advantages of the hormone substitution risks will probably have to be taken into account (eventual development of the endometrium carcinoma through the administration of oestrogen up to the high age). Individual problems during the climateric are not only the results of an oestrogen deficiency but are very often influenced by psychosocial factors. Various procedures are applied with the homone substitution in this phase of life - especially in the postmenopause. Besides the cyclic oral administration of oestrogen-gestagen preparations the transdermal and the intramuscular administration of hormones and similar substances is applied.
