Legal Bases of Rehabilitation

Abstract: The roots of today's social system is Bismarck's social insurance legislation from the end of last century. Since then, the legislation of social insurances has constantly been developed. After the creation of the Grundgesetz (the preliminary constitution), the idea of medical and professional rehabilitation was integrated into the legislation as a central item. Today four different groups of holders share the tasks of rehabilitation. The aim is an improvement or recreation of earning capacity or the aversion of threatening impediments.
