Abstract: For the separate food according to Hay naturaö products are used, denaturated products are avoided. Food being predominantly concentrate protein-containing is within a meal separated from predominantly concentrate carbohydrate-containing food; this improves the digestion. For a balanced acid-base household of the body about 2/3 of the daily food should predominantly consist of raw food-stuff which forms bases (salads, vegetables, fruits). The favourable effect of the separate food as well of a modification of a separate food low in protein and salt, respectively, on patients with chronic diseases of the kidneys is evidenced. The modern pathophysiology explains why the separate food exhibits a positive effect. A diet low in protein reduces the adaptive hyperfiltration of the glomerules and, thus, reduces the progression of the glomerulosclerosis and with it the chronic diseases of the kidneys.
