Akupunkturbehandlung (Moxibustion) und Drehungsrate bei Beckenendlage

Abstract: 39 patients with a breech presentation of the foetus after the 30th of pregnancy have been treated according to reports from China by acupuncture-moxibustion of the point "Zhiyin", which is situated on the outside of' the fifth toe. 13 foetus (33(%) changed into a head presentation. in a control group of 121 non treated patients a spontaneous version rate of 68% (22 patients) was found. This difference is significant p < 0,001. Therefore a moxibustion treatment in a comparative study of cases of breech presentation did not show any positive effect on the version rate, maybe this treatment even has a negative effect.
