Medical School 827 Yamada Misasa Tottori 682-02 Japan Tablet form of the CO2-bath preparation made from sodium bicarbonate sodium carbonate and succinic acid produces fine C02 bubbles so that 80 % of water solubility at 40 ° C can be obtained. A CO2-bath preparation 50 g tablet can produce 110 ppm maximum concentration in a bath of 150 liter at 40 ° C maintaining the level of more than 60 ppm for 2 hours. Absorption of 14C02 were studied in rabbits after topical application of a CO2 bath preparation in a bath of 150 liter at 40 ° C. 20 minutes after topical application the blood concentration of 14C02 reached 22 0 ng/g in blood and 14C02 cummulative excretion in expired gas reached 9 39 µg. hl
