The relationship between music therapy and music psychology

Abstract: The article outlines the current position of music therapy and music psychology and draws attention to common development perspectives and opportunities for cooperation btetween these related disciplines. In view of the charged (musico)-cultural situation, perspectives on joint efforts towards a new conception of research into musical effects are proposed. This conception would require complementary "research into musical activity" which explores the effects of active music-making both in therapy and in everyday situations.
