Remissionserhaltung nicht-metastasierter Mammakarzinome unter Faktor AF2

Abstract: In a randomized, prospective study, the recurrence prophylaxic effect of xenogenic peptides was examined in 37 patients with carcinoma of the breast (T2-T4, No-Nx, Mo, pre-, peri-, or postmenopausal, receptor status positive/negative). After the surgical, radiological, and chemical primary therapy, the patients of the verum group (n = 19) received 2 ml of Factor AF2 twice a week. The patients of the control group (n = 18) were only observed by laboratory and clinical parameters. The verum and the control groups were comparable concerning age, tumoral status, axillary Iymph node, menopausal status. Concerning the receptor status, there were 16 patients in the verum group with the prognostically unfavourable "negative" receptor status, compared with only 8 patients in the control group. Nevertheless, only 2 patients of the verum group suffered from relapses and/or metastases during the observation period, compared with 5 patients with relapses and/or metastases in the control group. The medium relapse-free and metastases-free interval was 33 months in the verum group, compared with 12,5 months in the control group. This result makes a positive effect of FactorAF2 possible concerning the recurrence prophylaxis. The tendencies which become apparent in this study should be supported further by observing a larger number of patients for a longer time.
