Nebenwirkungen und Grenzen der Akupunktur

Abstract: Side effects together with acupuncture or moxibustion are estimated to be very often ranging approximately between 5 and 60%. The most often complaint is slight drousiness. Half of these patients don't feel sure enough to drive their car according to swedish experiences. Fainting could be expected during the first three sessions in about 5% of the patients. Therefore as well from the legal viewpoint few needles, adequate stimulation technique according to individual constitution and condition as well as lying position is required. Other problems could be divided into those of infectious origin and injuries, or are due to a doctor's minor qualification and false indication of the method. Serious malpractice is seldom in western trained doctors treating with acupuncture and moxibustion.
