Alternative Heilmethoden in medizinhistorischer Sicht

Abstract: As concerned the so-called academic medicine there doesn't exist a special alternative healing system, but only a number of different varying therapies. There are partly formerly accepted scientific methods which are droped in folk medicine, erupting in our times and coming again an the surface, partly procedures which make use of so-called dynamic therapies. There are others which are effective empirically, but their basis could not be accepted in the moment by the academic medicine. In this paper these three groups are commented and rated by some singular examples. More completely discussed are homoeopathy, vitalistic therapies and those of astromedicine, the applicability of precious stones and material of the so-called "Dreckapotheke", neuropathological methods, the Mesmerism, the Baunscheidtism, the diagnosis of the iris, the acupuncture and the moxibution.
