Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present an outline of both general and personal attitudes towards music therapy in hospice care in Australia. As many non music therapists involved in hospice care offer various degrees of expertise with music activities it seems a music therapy framework that distinguishes Music Therapy from hospice care musical volunteers is in order. The Broad music therapy framework employed by the author is discussed and illustrated with case studies.
