Rationality and Common Sense in Danish Drug Therapy |

Abstract: Based an the actual use of drugs, this paper presents the notion of Rational Drug Therapy (RDT) in Denmark, including pharmacotherapeutic and economic correct pescribing and user non-compliance. Measures taken to obtain RDT reflect the professional viewpoint. From the users' point of view, the outcome Looks more like an irrational than a rational therapy. Besides, RDT, does not reflect the reality of users' everyday lives. The differences between rationality and common sense are discussed and it is concluded that future drrug therapy ought to be based on the users' experience and life situation.
