Einfluß der milden Hyperthermie auf Schmerz, lymphozytäres Immunsystem und Zinkgehalt im Serum bei chronischen schmerzhaften Erkrankungen

Abstract: We will report an the results relating to the application of a mild hyperthermy (mH) and its influence an pain, the lymphocytic immunosystem and the zinc level in the serum. The mild hyperthermy was carried out by means of the depth heating device Formostar. N = 32 patients underwent a treatment cycle of 6 treatments for a period of 4-6 weeks.The pain was significantly reduced by 61 % . The total number of lymphocytes, its differentiation in B-lymphocytes and T lymphozytes remained unchanged in the norm area, an the whole the number of O-cells was slightly increased, however not influenced by the therapy. The subpopulation of the T lymphocytes T4 was slightly lowered in n = 19 patients with values smaller than 60%, in n = 14 smaller than 55 % and in n = 13 patients in the norm area with values larger than 60%. Due to the mild hyperthermy treatment the number of T4-lymphocytes was significantly increased (p = 0,01) by 29,7%, the number of T8-lymphocytes significantly dropped by 31%, the ratio T4/T8 as expression of the immunological balance was significantly increased by 70% in the direction towards normal.The zinc concentration in the serum was determined in n = 20 patients before and after the treatment cycle. On the whole, the zinc serum values were in the norm area. The mild hyperthermy treatment led however to a considerable increase in the serum so that there was a significantly negative correlation between the increase in zinc in the serum and the increase in T4-lymphocytes. The result is an increased zinc consumption so that a zinc substitution can be recommended. The mH by means of a depth heating device is an appropriate, effective and cheap method to improve the immunosystem in transitory and chronic cases of immunodeficiency, particularly with regard to planned surgical measures.
