Abstract: This paper examines the possibilities of music therapy in personality development. The "agent of change" in this instance is creativity and particularly improvisation. A case study involving a woman in her twenties is presented. The first four sessions are examined in great detail with respect to the tempo-dynamics schema and its associated emotional states.
