The Physiotherapist's Approach to Neurological Disability

Abstract: This paper presents an overview of the process used by physiotherapists in the management of neurological disability. This process is illustrated using stroke as an example of an acute onset neurological condition and Parkinson's disease as an example of a degenerative neurological condition. The four steps involved in a motor relearning program are described. The benefits for physiotherapists and music therapists working together are discussed.
