Abstract: Discusses the psychoanalytic interpretation of Wolfgang A. Mozart's publication of Zoroastran riddles and proverbs during the Viennese carnival celebration of 1786. The riddles are free associational products of Mozart's imagination--symbols to which fragments of a hidden life are bonded.
